MEKZ Studio was born from a lifelong love of art, coastal living, and the luxury of sunlit escapes.

Founded by Elizabeth Zolnoski, a South Alabama native and Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from the University of South Alabama, the brand began with resin artwork inspired by the beach. Growing up near the water shaped everything — the colors, the movement, the light reflecting off the shoreline at golden hour. The beach was never just a place to visit. It was home.

In 2014, Elizabeth began experimenting with resin, determined to recreate the motion of waves, sand, and shifting tides. What started as late nights pouring resin over wood panels quickly became a serious artistic pursuit. She studied how pigments moved through epoxy, how heat altered texture, and how layers created dimension. Each piece became a study in capturing the energy of the coast.

What began as large-scale ocean paintings and resin charcuterie boards slowly evolved into something more personal.

Jewelry allowed the same movement, color, and texture of her larger work to live in a more intimate form. Sculptural shapes, bold pigments, and custom glitter blends created statement pieces that felt playful yet refined.

Every resin earring is designed, poured, and finished by hand using custom molds, carefully mixed pigments, and layered techniques developed over years of experimentation. The process is hands-on from start to finish. The mixing, pouring, curing, assembling, each step carefully considered.
